Polestar
- Who are they? Originally an independent performance tuning specialist and then Volvo’s performance division, Polestar became an independent all-electric brand co-founded by Volvo Cars and Chinese giant Geely. Based in Sweden, it benefits from Scandinavian engineering backed by Chinese industrial strength.
- What sets them apart: A strong Scandinavian visual identity, clean and minimalist, combined with a firm commitment to eco-design (recycled materials and battery traceability). Polestar focuses on dynamic road behaviour and advanced software integration, notably using Google Android Automotive.
- Their positioning in Switzerland: Well established in Switzerland with its own Polestar Spaces (Zurich, Geneva, etc.) and supported by Volvo’s service network, the brand competes directly with Tesla, BMW and Audi in the premium and sporty segment. Its range includes the Polestar 2 compact saloon, the dynamic Polestar 4 SUV (which replaces a traditional rear window with an HD camera) and the large flagship Polestar 3 SUV.
